Les Hill, the Sahara of Lake Balaton.

We currently farm on 12 hectares of productive vineyards.

Most of our wine growing areas can be found on Les Hill that has a wonderful panorama overlooking Lake Balaton. The center of our estate is in this vineyard that produces truly special wines.

It is said that the hill was named after the fact that keen-eyed young lads would spy on the waters of Lake Balaton to see where it was worth going fishing. According to some other elderly people this region is the Sahara of Lake Balaton. Due to special weather conditions present, this area recieves the least amount of annual precipitation in the whole Lake Balaton region which results in a hot Mediterranean climate where pomegranates, figs and rosemary thrive. What’s more, the soil here is extremely calcareous and stony which is ideal for growing grape and planting almond trees. Les Hill is shared by three settlements: Balatonudvari, Dörgicse and Balatonakali.

Another smaller yet truly exceptional 2-hectare part of our estate is located in Balatonfüred, in the Vörösmál area.
