Riesling
Riesling, originally from the Rhine region, feels perfectly at home in our vineyards. The Riesling parcels on Les-hegy consistently deliver fruit of exceptional quality, forming the cornerstone of one of our most ambitious goals: crafting Hungary’s finest—if not one of the finest—Rieslings each year. Our flagship Riesling, Genius Loci, comes from one of the steepest and rockiest plots on Les-hegy, reflecting the character and vibrancy of this remarkable terroir.
Furmint
We are passionate about showcasing Furmint’s rightful place along the northern shores of Lake Balaton, where it thrived centuries ago. For our vineyard, István Szepsy personally selected old Furmint clone canes from Tokaj, which we grafted and planted on Les-hegy in 2010. Remarkably, the grapes here often grow as richly as they do in Tokaj, occasionally developing the same “aszú” character! Honoring this ancient Hungarian variety that predates phylloxera, we named our finest Furmint wine Nativus.

Welschriesling
The most iconic grape variety of the Balatonfüred-Csopak Wine Region, Welschriesling thrives in our nearly 50-year-old vineyards, which consistently yield exceptional fruit. While the vines require annual pruning above ground, their roots delve ever deeper, accessing ample water and nutrients. The dense network of fine rootlets ensures the grapes produce concentrated, full-bodied juice, imbuing old-vine wines with a truly distinctive character. Our finest Welschriesling, Aequilibris—Latin for “perfect balance”—reflects this harmony, embodying the pinnacle of our winemaking philosophy.
Blaufränkisch
A traditional Hungarian variety, Blaufränkisch is the cornerstone of our spicy, light red wines and elegant Rosés. From the finest Blaufränkisch parcels, we craft Vércse, a bold red blend that combines Blaufränkisch with Zweigelt and Cabernet Franc to deliver depth and complexity.
Barátcsuha (Monk’s Robe)
A true rarity, Barátcsuha is an ancient, pre-phylloxera Hungarian variety that deserves a separate post. With only 2,000 square meters (0.2 hectares) remaining worldwide, we are proud to preserve and process this unique grape, honoring its historical and cultural significance.
